Someone who is “busier” than you is out running right now.
(Some of the things I told myself, in order to get to where I am today)
I can’t talk about exercise and become a beast, Chaka shut up and get on with it, talk about it after.
I can converse about eating right, but that pizza is still a pizza.
I chat about changing the world, but what am I on about, because that is still a spliff and it’s not helping anyone. I need to be able to think straight in order to convey a positive message to people.
I say I am strong, yet my actions are weak, I say I am a “Boss” yet I follow like a sheep, how can I be a role model when I’m just trying to fit in…
I never eat after 9pm yet I consume twice as many calories drinking all night, as I did eating that day.
I know I can still have fun as long as I get the work done, talk the talk then walk the walk.
I spend all day on Facebook, writing things like,”I wish I was fit” “I want to have a body like an athlete”
If wishes were horses than beggars would ride. Gassing burns no calories. Procrastinating will never get me healthy. I will get round to it when I have finished talking as my opinions are as important as my actions? Maybe I have cognitive dissonance, the space between what I think and what I am actually doing….For example, an individual is likely to experience dissonance if he or she is addicted to smoking cigarettes and continues to smoke despite believing it is unhealthy. Even when you have a family member who died from lung cancer (I didn’t know this theory at the time!) Imagine if I stopped talking, imagine if all the effort I put into thinking, msn (this used to be the lick lol), texting and gossiping was channeled positively into, exercising, eating healthily, and breaking bad habits.
Imagine where I will be 6 months from now. How old are you now?
Imagine 6 years from now… Too far lol okay stick with 6 months for now.
While I am talking about how strong I am, there are people out there proving strength everyday. Actions speak louder than words. What I am talking about doing, will never impress as much as what I am doing right now. Excuses are for the weak, kill that talk.

Time to start living my dreams. We all have a right to be heard but what we do determines if anybody listens. Actions prove why words mean nothing. Time to get to work. Good morning family.
Remember you can do whatever you want, all you have to do is work.
I changed my life for the better, so can you #spartanfam

If you go to the doctors complaining about having a headache, the doctor will say take a aspirin/paracetamol and rest.
Never really addressing the root cause of the problem: Lack of water, looking at a screen all day, not sleeping enough, poor diet, too much alcohol.
Yet you didn’t get a headache for lack of aspirin… Medicine is an industry as well as science.

The human body is remarkable and is the only place we have to live.
Our bodies are made up of skin, muscle, bones and organs.
The organs are made of tissue, and those tissues are made of cells.
So in essence we are just millions of cells, but those cells die out everyday, and have to be replaced everyday.
So how do we replace them?
How do we build new cells?
The raw materials come from only one place, what we put in our mouths.
If we put healthy nutritious food in our mouths we can make healthy cells.
If we put bad food in our bodies, then we have raw materials that will make inferior cells, or sick cells that can make us sick.
If you want to perform sh*t then eat sh*t, but don’t feed rubbish food to your kids. Your slackness could make your kids unhealthy or sick.

If you poison your body with toxins your body will become toxic and poisoned. You will endure illness as a result of your actions.

Give yourself a fighting chance :)

    We eat too much meat.
Excess meat consumption is bad for the planet, for our health, and for the well-being of animals.
Our diets should be at least 90% plant based.
We are omnivores not carnivores!

Personally I don’t want a heart attack when I am 50!

Men who eat too much processed meat at more risk of heart failure says study

Check this article by the British heart foundation.

Men who eat too many sausages could be at greater risk of heart failure, according to researchers.

The Swedish study looked at the diets of over 37,000 men and found those who ate more than 75g of processed red meat a day - equivalent to 3 rashers of bacon or 2 large sausages - had a 28% greater risk of developing heart failure than those who ate less than 25g a day.

The findings also showed that the men who ate the most processed red meat were over twice as likely to die from heart failure.

This risk increased by 38% for each additional 50g serving. However, eating unprocessed red meat such as pork, beef and minced meat was not found to increase risk of heart failure.

This research suggests we would do well to curb our cravings as processed red meat could be linked to an increased risk of heart failure
Tracy Parker, our Heart Health Dietician, said: “With summer in the air, many of us may be looking forward to a barbecue. But this research suggests we would do well to curb our cravings as processed red meat, such as sausages and burgers, could be linked to an increased risk of heart failure.
“The study doesn’t look into why this is the case, but suggests the adverse effect could be down to the salt and additives used to produce and preserve processed meats.

“Whilst red meat can still be enjoyed as part of a balanced diet, a healthy diet is a varied one. So if you eat lots of processed meat, try other protein choices such as chicken, fish, beans or lentils to keep your heart healthy.” #spartanfam #famfoods

I am currently recovering from injury, not being able to do push ups yet (doctors orders) was annoying me. The I remembered the Story of Peng Shulin.
In life we keep complaining about what is or why we don’t have.
Half the time we seem dissatisfied, though full-bodied and free to choose.
Poor people want to be rich and rich are never satisfied with what they have.
PENG Shulin is 78cms high. He was born in Hunan Province, China.
In 1995, in Shenzhen, a freight truck sliced his body in half.
His lower body and legs were beyond repair.
Surgeons sewed up his torso.
Peng, 37, spent nearly two years in hospital in Shenzhen, southern China, undergoing a series of operations to re-route nearly every major organ or system inside his body.
Peng kept exercising his arms, building up strength, washing his face and brushing his teeth.
Now he does push ups. #deadyourexcuses
He Survived against all odds.
Peng Shulin has astounded doctors by learning to walk again after a decade.
Considering Peng’s plight, doctors at the China Rehabilitation Research Centre in Beijing devised an ingenious way to allow him to walk on his own, creating a sophisticated egg cup-like casing to hold his body, with two bionic legs attached.
Peng has been walking the corridors of Beijing Rehabilitation Centre with the aid of his specially adapted legs and a resized walking frame.
Oh so satisfying to ‘walk’ again after ten years with half a body!
Hospital vice-president Lin Liu said: “We’ve just given him a checkup; he is fitter than most men his age.”
Peng Shulin has opened his own bargain supermarket, called the Half Man-Half Price Store.
The inspirational 37-year-old has become a businessman and is a role model for other amputees.
At just 2ft 7ins tall, he moves around in a wheelchair giving lectures on recovery from disability.
His attitude is amazing, he doesn’t complain.
“He had good care, but his secret is cheerfulness. Nothing ever gets him down.” #spartanfam
